Bohúňovo

The village of Bohúňovo is situated on the northeastern edge of the natural basin known as Rimavská kotlina and mountain range called Slovenský kras. The village houses are dotted around the main road, which goes through the village and is connected to the road No. I/50, which goes from Rimavská Sobota to Rožňava.
Easy railway connection enables people to travel on the main track from Košice to Zvolen.
The total cadastral area of the village is only 678 hectares, it is one of the smallest villages in the district.

The village consists of two parts:
(1) Bohúňovo which is located on the eastern side of the main road and

(2) Tiba - a small settlement which is situated about 1 km from Bohúňovo.
The village facilities include:

Kindergarten, Primary school, Cultural hall, Village library, Youth club, Football pitch, Children´s playground, General store, buffet counter and village pub in Tiba, Fire station.
The village is situated close to the protected natural area which is suitable for walking and outdoor activities.
