Our village with its 192 inhabitants is situated in the area of the Lower Tatra only 20km away from Banská Bystrica. It has a long tradition. The first references about Moštenica originate from 1495, year of foundation of coppery foundries.
In the village was born a multiple master of the world and Olympic winner in volleyball Bohumil Golian.

Near Moštenica is located a cottage settlement "Kyslá" (board and lodging), in the summertime - mountain tourism - try to pass to a famous centre "Donovaly", as well as to "Kozí chrbát", "Prašivá" and to "Tále".

"Kyslá" is famous for its fine mineral water.
In the wintertime visitors and tourist can go skiing. This pleasure will be offered by a ski lift 350m long.
