Timoradza

Village Timoradza with its terrace-houses near a brook lies in the valley of the Bebrava river, 17 km to the north of Bánovce nad Bebravou (Bánovce upon Bebrava), at the touch point of Nitrianska table with Strážovská highland. The nearest towns are Bánovce nad Bebravou, where is the seat of the District office and spa town Trenčianske Teplice belonging as the village to the Trenčín country.
The first written mention originates from the year 1366 as villa Tymoraz, but it is much older. It had belonged to Uhrovský county. In the middle of village is situated the Church of St Andrew exactly in the area of the former cemetery circumscribed with a low wall. Foundation of the church is supposed to be in one architectural era with tower, apse and sacristy about 1260-1270 and vault of ship originates from the 17th century.

There is a location "Kňaží stôl" in the eastern part of the village, which belongs to lower organic element of Strážovské vrchy. On terrier of the village are some important locations of many unique biotops of occurence of many kinds of unusual flora and fauna and Smradľavý hill the nature reservation.
In the lower part of the village were discovered abundant springs of drinking water, where were built eight artesian wells connected with a high-capacity "Ponitriansky" group water-pipe.

Points of interest, remarkables and rarities
Absolute altitude in the middle of the village is 240m above sea level. The absolute altitude oscillates 228-652m above sea level in the terrier. Altogether, village Timoradza can be rank to the warm, moist zone with mild winter.
The terrier of the village has its area of 1049ha, thereof 43ha intravilan, ploughland 340ha and woodland area 660ha.

Village Timoradza is of country-side style with dominant activity in agriculture. Other activities of citizens are realised in industry, services and building in Bánovce nad Bebravou, Trenčianske Teplice, Dubnica nad Váhom and in Trenčín. In the village there are seven entrepreneurs, thereof three work in trade.
Throught the village leads main communication to the district town. Connection with other villages and habitations is ensured by busses SAD. Nowadays live 500 inhabitants in the village.
In the surroundings of the village there are opportunities for walking and cycling therewith you can go to the Uhrovská valley, the Slatinská valley and throught the village Krásna Ves to Trenčianske Teplice and to Motešice – stables of noble horses.
