Borovce has its name derived from the forest of beavers living here sometimes in the past. According to old annals from the year 1549 a family with the name ''Bori'' was living here. Also in Hungarian language the village was denominated''Bori'' or ''Vágbori''. It is situated close to the main road from Trnava to Vrbové and Piesťany. It is divided into 3 parts: lower, middle (with a farm) and upper part (with a church and a school).
A ''mill´s'' stream called Holeška flowing along the village Borovce in the direction of Vrbové to Veselé was supplying water to all mills built close to it. Nowadays the stream Holeška has already dried up and doesn´t serve its purpose.
Another stream called the Dudváh flew parallel to the Holeška in the same direction in the proximity of about 500m. For the village it was of not that importance as the Holeška.

Soil in Borovce indicates the times of alluvium because it is yellow, loamy and without stone and very fertile.
The school building was built in 1792 – consisting of one classroom. The second classroom was built in 1876 and the third one in 1932. According to the then ministerial orders there could not be higher number of students in the classrooms than 60.

In 1916 a local railroad was constructed. It was a road turning from Trebatice and it had its end in Rakovice. It had two loading stations Borovce and Rakovice. Mostly was used by the local farm for bringing in merchandise and by the farmers for loading and transporting beetroot. The Parish building was built for an organ player in 1747, in 1810 a regular Parish office was installed here but in 1821 was robbed and was reconstructed in 1822.
There is a church in front of the Ocskay´s garden in the upper part. The Church was under the auspices of the Fundus religionis and is sacred to St Laurent – the martyr. It was built in 1777-1781 and has a golden monstrance inside. Under the Church there is a crypt with 24 columbariums where yeomen and priests from Borovce are buried. Borovce has 880 inhabitants in the present. It belongs to the very successful developing villages. In the recent times a lot of new houses have occurred and some old houses have been reconstructed, net of services for inhabitants and net of shops has expanded, also job opportunities can be found here, cultural activities have increased and interpersonal relations have been improved.

Starosta obce organizuje pre mládež a ostatných záujemcov cyklokrosový pretek, ktorý sa uskutoční dňa 01.02.2005 o 9.30 hod v dolnom hliníku pri kaplnke.
Veríme, že sa preteku zúčastní mládež v čo najväčšom počte. Je potrebné aby si účastníci preteku priniesli prilbu a teplé ošatenie.
