Hrnčiarska Ves
Hrnčiarka Ves originated in 1964 as a connection of the villages Pondelok, Veľká Suchá and the settlement Maštinec. It spreads in a historical area Malohont in the southern part of Middle Slovakia in the basin of the creek Suchá. Despite the villages are linked by a build-up area, the original inhabitants didn’t like the new name very much. The old name Veľká Suchá was caused by the creek Suchá and was mentioned already in the end of 12th century, written mentions come from 1285. First records about Pondelok are from 1511, probably it was derived from the trials against serfs. The trials has taken place every first monday in the month (monday = “pondelok“ in Slovak language).
