Čierne Kľačany spreads only 4 kilometres southeastern from Zlaté Moravce in the northern part of Pondunajská hilly country nearby Pohronský Inovec. The river Širočina flows through the land register of the village. Archaelogical findings from the later Stone Age are the prooves of the oldest settlement. But the most unique finding somes from the Great Moravian period, it is pyxida – a jewel box made from ivory. It is an artwork decorated by relief with shepard anf farmen motives, which symbolize the foundation of Rome. Nowadays is the pyxida loaded in Treasury of old standing past in Bratislava Castle.
The first mention about the village from 1209 is saved in the bull of pope Inocent III., where it is mentioned as villa Chelecen. The village had been a part of property of several aristocartic families, at the beginning of the 14th century it belonged to Matúš Čák.
During the 16th and 17th centuries Čierne Kľačany preserved difficult times under the pressure of Turks. In the 18th century a fruit-growing school, what influenced the level of the agricultural village. Significantly contributed to its development the railway connection Zlaté Moravce – Kozárovce from 1912.

Nowadays is Čierne Kľačany a modern village with developed business net, it has a build-up house of culture, where beside other artists also a domestic choir Širočina performs.
The inhabitants are also proud of their football field and tennis courts. Their sport and national feelings are viewable in sociale-sport activity “Run for Čierne Kľačany’s pyxida“ for 15 kilometres distance. The municipal office in Čierne Kľačany organized the run for the fourth time in 2007 as a greeting to Cyril’s and Metod’s celebrations of Slavonic literature and culture.
The village is interesting for the visitors because fo many reasons. Historcial sacral buildings are the prooves of profound spiritual lives of the inhabitants. Roman Catholic church of Christ King was dedicated in 1777. Nearby the church one can find the statues of Cyril and Metod.

Beside the road to vineyards stand a chapel of St. Urban. Very unique is the mill from 1715, which has been reconstructed for many times. The memorial situated in the south of the village, in Futalova valley, reminds the place of late-antique pyxida’s finding.
The land register of the village is completely a hilly country with 320-metres difference in height. Near Pohronský Inovec has good landscape for short walkings or tourism, forrest are rich in berries and mushrooms. In hunting area one can see field game, wild boar and deer-track.
Creativity od Čierne Kľačany’s inhabitants is viewable also in decoration of the village surrounding. In its middle they planted out a Slovak maple heart from maples.
