The village is situated in the beautiful valley of Sekčov river near the state road and railroad track leading from Prešov to Bardejov. Ragged land area lies in the altitude of 270 up to 550 m. It was settled supposedly before the beginning of 11th century, the oldest written record is to be found in agreement between king Belo IV. and bishop from Jáger and it originates from the half of 13th century. The village dwellers were farmers as well as skillful craftsmen such as blacksmiths, furriers, potters and linen processors.
Visitors of Tulčík will consider it a modern village with rich cultural and sports activity as well as nice monuments. Roman-Catholic church of St. Simon and Juda from 11th century got a new shape in 17th century. There is a legend linked with this church about special kind of mineral water called ‘kyselka’. It was impetrated by people during the period of great drought and they considered the seepage of this spring a miracle. At the place called Kikapa there is a chapel which was built in 1933 by Slovak league – Slovaks living in America and coming from Tulčík. Worships are held there every year. There are two castles as well. In 16th century the family of Kapiovci built a castle which in 18th century got its Baroque shape. The smaller castle comes from 17th century.
Very unique is The House of Crafts which task is to support revival and preservation of local traditional crafts. There are many active sportsmen coming from this region as well as many members of other clubs and associations such as hunters, breeders, and pigeon fanciers. We can also mention association of forest protection called Lesoochranárske združenie VLK. Local folklore traditions are preserved thanks to the youth folklore group Kaplička. Tourists have many opportunities for beautiful trips and tourist routes all around the village. Protected land area Demjatské kopce called Vápeníky is situated behind the village Demjata. Northerly from Tulčík there is mountain range Čergov that is very attractive for tourists because of the tourist routes. You can take a trip to Vyšný les as well where you can find a forester’s lodge and a spring of refreshing water. Tulčík is protected by Stráž – the highest mountain in the surrounding (740 MSL). It is a part of a mountain range which passes from castle hill Kapušiansky to Lysá stráž. On the top of the hill there is a transmitter and showcase with the statue of St. Florian. In September the village dwellers climb this hill for a common worship. Cyclists like Tulčik, too. There is namely a 20 km long section of Karpatská cycling track from Prešov to Raslavice.
