Hotel *** Máj - Liptovský Ján

The hotel Maj is situated in the exquisite scenery of the Low Tatras National Park, 700 metres above sea level, at the en-try to the valley Jánska dolina, belonging to one of the most beautiful valleys in the Low Tatras. The valley is 17 km long and the valley ends at the foot of the Ďumbier peak, the highest peak of the Low Tatras (2043 m). The hotel offers its guests apartments, family rooms, single and double-bedded rooms with an extra bed, restaurant, bistro, aperitif bar, Delfín bar, ladies bar and congress hall. The clients have at their disposal a swimming-pool with thermal water, sauna, classical and water massages, storage and rental of winter sports equipment (skis, cross-country skis, snowboards), rental of mountain bikes, beach volleyball and a tennis court. The clients are free to make use of the thermal swimming pool, situated next to the hotel, a natural thermal spring with a temperature of 290C, many breath-taking cycling and tourist routes of varying degrees of diffi-culty, horse-riding, many sports and cultural events included. In winter, the valley Jánska dolina is transformed into a ski resort frequented by lovers of alpine sports.

The ski resort Javorovica is situated next to the hotel Máj, with four ski-lifts supplemented with artificial snow, downhill slopes with a total length of 1900 m. The area offers excellent conditions for cross-country skiing. Gentle slopes are suitable for sledging. The Máj hotel is suitable, not only for family recreation but also for relaxation and sanatorium sojourns, ski training camps, sports training camps, seminaries, congresses, training courses and social gatherings. Art lovers will also not be dis-appointed. From an historical and artistic point of view the Liptovský Ján village belongs to one of the most important vil-lages in Liptov. The historical buildings of the village include 24 manor-houses and mansions from the 16th and 17th century, be-longing to one of the most valuable Renaissance manor-houses in Slovakia.
