Hotel ** - Liptovský Ján

The Hotel in Liptovský Ján is situated in the exquisite scenery of the Low Tatras National Park, 700 metres above sea level, at the entry to the valley Jánska dolina, belonging to one of the most beautiful valleys in the Low Tatras. The valley is 17 km long and the valley ends at the foot of the Ďumbier peak, the highest peak of the Low Tatras (2043 m).

The hotel offers its guests single and double-bedded rooms with extra beds, apartments, family rooms, toilette, shower-bath, telephone, radio and TV (SAT programmes included) and balconies (only 1/3 of all rooms is equipped with balconies). The clients have at their disposal a sauna, billiard table and table tennis. The whole-day restaurant offers specialities of the home and international cuisine. Cocktail lounge will procure a pleasant relaxation. Parking facilities are next to the hotel.

The near area offers excellent conditions for all types of sports. In winter, the valley Jánska dolina is transformed into a ski resort frequented by lovers of alpine sports. The near ski resort Javorovica is equipped with four ski-lifts supplemented with pistes and artificial snow, downhill slopes with a total length of 1900 m., ski school, ski service, rental of winter sports equipment (skis, cross-country skis, snowboards). The area offers excellent conditions for cross-country skiing; gentle slopes are suitable for sledging.

The clients are free to make use of the swimming pool with thermal water, situated in the Máj hotel, sauna, classical and water massages, open thermal swimming pool and a tennis court next to the hotel (300 m). Curiosity of the area is a natural thermal spring with a temperature of 290C.

The area offers many breathtaking cycling and tourist routes of varying degrees of difficulty, horse–riding, many sports and cultural events included.Monuments and folk architecture complete the scenic surroundings of this area. The Liptovský Ján village belongs to one of the oldest villages in Liptov. The historical buildings of the village include 24 manor-houses and mansions from the 16th and 17th century, belonging to one of the most valuable Renaissance manor-houses in Slovakia.
